The Mental Health Foundation and WWF UK have joined forces to bring you Thriving With Nature; a free guidebook which explores the relationship between nature, wellbeing and mental health.
They state: “We believe it is now more important than ever for everyone to enjoy the remarkable mental health benefits of connecting with nature. However, we ask everyone who uses this guide to do so in ways that are safe for themselves and others around them. This means following the latest guidance from the government where we live, whether it’s England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland – or beyond. “
The Guide describes some of the many ways that spending time outdoors can help support good mental health and well-being, such as
• Time in green spaces
• Finding nature in the city
• Relaxation and mindfulness.
The Foundation Nature For Health (NFH) welcomes initiatives such as Thriving with Nature.
As part of its Nature on Your Mind initiative, NFH addresses the importance of nature and green for mental health and mental healthcare.
